Using Laft
Initial Setup
- Ensure Rainbow Six Siege is running before starting Laft. This is crucial for proper functionality.
- Open Laft. You may need to run it as Administrator if you encounter issues.
- Enable the recoil feature:
Click the activation button, typically located in the bottom-left corner of the Laft interface.
Alternatively, use the default keybind (usually F2) to toggle the recoil control on/off.
Adjust Recoil Settings
- Configure Values:
Use the sliders provided in Laft to adjust Horizontal (X) and Vertical (Y) recoil values.
Vertical Slider: Controls how much the software pulls down.
- If your aim goes too high (under-compensated), increase the Vertical value.
- If your aim goes too low (over-compensated), decrease the Vertical value.
Horizontal Slider: Controls side-to-side compensation.
- Adjust based on the specific weapon's horizontal drift.
- Testing & Refinement:
Load into the in-game Shooting Range in Rainbow Six Siege.
Test your settings by firing at a wall. Observe the bullet pattern and make fine adjustments to the X/Y values in Laft until you achieve the desired control.
Note: Optimal recoil settings are highly dependent on your in-game mouse sensitivity, DPI (Dots Per Inch) settings of your mouse, and individual weapon characteristics. Experiment to find what works best for you. It's recommended to configure settings for each operator/weapon you frequently use.
Saving and Managing Configurations
Preset Management
- Navigate to the 'Settings' or 'Presets' tab within Laft.
- Saving a Configuration:
After configuring your desired Horizontal and Vertical values, find the input field for preset names (often labeled 'Preset Name' or similar, might show 'NONE' by default).
Enter a descriptive name for your configuration (e.g., "Ash_R4C_Holo").
Click the 'Save Preset' button to store your current X/Y values under that name.
- Loading a Configuration:
Click on the preset dropdown menu (the one that might show 'NONE' or your last saved preset).
Select your desired preset from the list.
Click the 'Load Preset' button. The X/Y values should update to the saved configuration.
- Deleting a Configuration:
Select the preset you wish to delete from the dropdown menu.
Click the 'Delete Preset' button. Confirm if prompted.
Customizing Keybinds
- Open the 'Keybinds' tab in Laft.
- Select the action you wish to rebind. Click on the specific action you want to change.
- Press the new key you want to assign to that action. The interface should update to reflect the new keybind.
Tip: Choose keybinds that are easy to reach and don't conflict with your in-game controls.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
If the recoil feature isn't working as expected, try these common fixes:
- Ensure Laft is run as Administrator.
- Confirm that Rainbow Six Siege was launched *before* Laft.
- Verify the recoil feature is enabled within Laft (check the toggle button/keybind).
- Ensure Horizontal and Vertical values in Laft are set appropriately (not zero if compensation is needed).
- Check for conflicting software or overlays that might interfere with Laft.
- Ensure your in-game resolution and aspect ratio settings are consistent.
Still Having Issues?
If problems persist:
- Join our official Laft Discord Server (link also in the footer).
- Navigate to the appropriate support channel (e.g., #bug-reports or #help).
- Provide a detailed explanation of the issue, including:
What steps you took.
What you expected to happen.
What actually happened.
Your in-game settings (sensitivity, resolution).
- If possible, attach a short clip or screenshots demonstrating the problem. This greatly helps in diagnosing the issue.
